How do I record attendance?

* First go to View | Options and click on the Grading tab. Check the box for I need to keep track of attendance.
* Next, click on the Attendance tab. In the left margin, there is a calendar from which you can select a date. After selecting a date, highlight a class and a spreadsheet will appear. (If you do not see a spreadsheet, make sure the box for No class today is not checked.) To record attendance, click in one of the cells with your mouse. Each click of the mouse will bring up the next attendance mark in the cycle.
* To change the settings for attendance marks, go to View | Grading Options and click on the Attendance Marks tab. You can then change what percentages correspond to which mark, as well as select which types of marks to use.


How do I create additional attendance categories?

Go to View | Grading Options and click on the Attendance tab. Here you can check the boxes for Attendance, Tardiness, Participation and/or Citizenship. You can also create your own attendance categories by renaming the Participation or Citizenship fields. After making your selections, you can adjust the percentage bars to the right. You can also adjust the settings for how to mark the different categories of attendance by clicking on the Attendance Marks tab.


I want attendance to count towards a percentage of the final grade for each class. How do I change the percentage?

First go to View | Options, click on the Grading tab, and make sure the box is checked for I need to keep track of attendance. Now you can go to Classes and click on the Grading tab. Check the box for Non-academic grades count towards final grade. You can also enter the appropriate percentage in the percentage field.


I take attendance, but do not want it to count towards the final grade. What should I do?

Go to View | Options, click on the Grading tab, and make sure the box is checked for I need to keep track of attendance. Now you can go to Classes and click on the Grading tab. Make sure the box for Non-academic grades count towards final grade is not checked.


I don't take attendance at all. Can I turn of the attendance feature?

Go to View | Options, click on the Grading tab, and make sure the box for I need to keep track of attendance is not checked.
