ThinkWave Educator FAQ > Recording Results
 Recording results Find answers

Recording results is done in the Tests and Assignments screen. After you have created a test or assignment, you can then assign grades.

* Go to Tests & Assignments and click on the Record Results button.
* Highlight the class, then highlight the assignment for which you are entering grades.
* Highlight a student and record the grade he/she earned in the appropriate field.
* If the student’s assignment was turned in late, check the box for Late. You can also specify an assignment as being Missing or Excused by checking the appropriate boxes. Missing assignments count as zero, and Excused assignments do not count at all.
* You may also enter comments regarding the student’s work on that assignment in the Comments field. Click the arrow pointing to the right and located directly above the Comments field to manage a list of pre-defined comments in the Comment List dialog.
* Note that a checkmark appears next to students who have had their work graded, and when all the students’ grades have been recorded for the test or assignment, a checkmark appears next to the assignment as well.
* The Average Grade section indicates the average grade earned by the class for that assignment.
* You can also view and edit all the test & assignment results for all students in a class by clicking the Grid View button, which will display a table of grades that you have assigned for one class.
* Within the grid view, you can enter grades directly using the keyboard. Use the following keys for special actions: Type the M key to indicate a missing assignment.
* Type the E key to indicate that an assignment is excused.
* Type the L key for a late assignment.
* You can double-click on any assignment results to shift to the Record Results view and change the recorded grade. Also, holding down Shift and typing a student’s name while the grid is shown will jump to that student.

To view overall class grades, go to Results.
