Assignments

Assignments are graded in Points. To adjust the maximum number of points that an assignment is worth, please click on Assignments and then click on Edit for a specific assignment. Make the necessary changes to the Max Points field and then click on Save.

Classes

Classes can be graded in Points, Letter, or Percentage. When creating new classes, Web Ed will use the default final grade type selected in Options | Grading. To change the default, click on Options and then click on the Grading tab. In addition to changing the default final grade type, you can also change the default percent conversion for calculating letter grades. Be sure to click on Save if you make any changes you need to keep.

To change a Final Grade Type for a class that has already been created, click on Classes Info and click on Edit for a specific class. You can then select one of the three choices listed in the Final Grade Type drop-down menu. If you choose Letter, you can either stick with the default percentage conversion set in Options | Grading, or you can choose to use Custom Percent Conversion by checking that box. Click on Save to keep your changes.

Letter Grades

To designate which percentages equal a certain letter grade, go to Grading | Options (for the default letter grade conversions) or go to Classes Info and click on Edit (for classes with customized letter grade conversion). Select also whether pluses and minuses should be used. Always click on Save to keep changes.

Note: Please keep in mind that the maximum percentage set for a letter grade is not inclusive. For example, if the maximum for an A- is 93, then the A- goes up to 92.999… but does not include 93.0.
