ThinkWave Educator -
Home Screen
The home screen is the first
screen you see when you start the program.
Note the tabs along the top in the black bar that enable you to
navigate through the program to different screens.
From this page, you can see the events for the day, the
upcoming assignments, and your top students. You can also go
directly to Grades Online to log in and see what your
parents and students see.

Classes Screen
Use the Classes screen to begin setting up your classes by
entering the class name, term, meeting time and location,
and grade type. Next, click on the Enroll Students button on
the left side of the screen to choose which students to put
in each class. You can also set class-specific grading
policies, and change the order of your class roster.

Grading Options Screen
From the Classes screen, click Weighting to
customize the grading system for each class.
Choose letter, percentage, points, or create your own grading system
with the most flexible grading options.

Test and Assignments Screen
Use the Tests and Assignments screen to
enter assignments, quizzes, and tests that you have
given or plan to give to your students. Click on the Record
Results button to enter the grade that each student
received. You can also add individual comments for each
student's performance on the assignment.

Results Screen
You can also choose to enter grade results in
the Grid View, which resembles your paper gradebook.

Web Screen
Once you have created your classes,
assignments, and recorded results - you're ready to
publish the information for your students on Grades Online.
Simply go to the web screen and click the Publish button.
ThinkWave will automatically create individual accounts for
each student and their parents. Print out the start key and
password information by clicking on the student and parent
buttons found on the left side of the screen. You can also
enter specific announcements for students and parents, such
as reminders for assignments, field trips, or upcoming
events.

Parent and Student View
Now that you've published to ThinkWave Grades
Online
and given your parents and students start keys and
passwords, they begin seeing their grades and attendance
online.
Once they have created a ThinkWave ID and entered
their start key and password to link to your gradebook, your
students and parents will see a
screen similar to the one displayed
here.
For each class, they can see attendance records, a
list of the assignments, handouts for the assignments, the grade,
and additional comments on the assignments. |
