In class on September 20th, students reviewed the Arabic words we learned last week:

- Hello: Marhaban

- What is your name: Maa Ismuka (male), Maa Ismuki (female)

- My name is ____: Ana Ismee _____

I also gave students a guide that shows how each Arabic letter appears in the beginning, middle, and end of a word. Students used this guide to complete a packet where they practice joining Arabic letters into words and separating words into letters. They completed the first 2 pages (page 1: alif baa taa, page 2: thaa jeem haa) of the packet in class.

Students should bring the guide and packet to class every week since we will be using them for classwork.

Homework: Students that have not yet finished the first 2 pages should do it for homework. Students that completed the first 2 pages can complete the 3rd page (khaa daal thaal) for homework.

** Not every student received a guide and packet since we had new students. I will attach the documents to this message and print more copies to give to students next class.

Assalamu alaykum dear parents, I hope everyone is doing well.

Last Sunday, we introduced ourselves, started our Quran class by realizing that Quran is the word of Allah, the best thing in our life. We also talked about how important is the SALAT( namaz) in our life and that guided us to start by Surah Al-Fatiha. (We are finishing Surah Al-Fatiha then we will do Surah Al-Ikhlas).
We learned that Surah Al-Fatiha consists of *two parts*: first part is thanking Allah, the most merciful, and god of everyone, the owner of day of judgment. The second part is asking Allah to help me be a good Muslim.

In the following classes, we are going to enforce these information and listen several times to the recitation.

As a homework, I encourage you to let your kids listen to the Surah from sheikh, so the verbal pronunciation will be better, and remind them with the general meaning of the Surah.

Note: in the backpack, I left 2 pages for Arabic letters as a homework

I hope that all families are doing well.

Last Sunday, we had a quick review on the material we learned in the previous week. Only 3 students handed me the homework pages I uploaded here on this chat.
We worked on writing some letters in different formats, we also worked in our classroom-work notebook.
Almost all the students seemed familiar with the Arabic letters which makes our task easier in trying to build on what they know.

*HOMEWORK* 
1. I am uploading pages (23-27)from their book for Arabic:(TEACH YOUR CHILD TO READ ARABIC). You *DO NOT* have to print them but guide your kids to open the book on the required pages and WORK DIRECTLY IN THE BOOK. This is a *GRADED HOMEWORK*. 
2. ⁠For page 20 , there are 6 vocabulary words that they have to know by heart, each word is connected to a letter, and a picture, they need to be familiar with them as I am giving them a (verbal quiz )on these 6 words this Sunday : أ-Asad ب:Battah. ت: Taaj. ث: Thoom. ج: Jazar   
ح: Haafilah

Please send your child with the Arabic book to class every Sunday.

Names of Allah الهادى what are the different ways of guidance Allah swt sent us. 

Assalamualaikum,

I am so excited to be your child's Quran teacher for this year InshaAllah! This year, we will go over Surah Al-Qadr, Surah At-Teen, Surah Ash-Sharh, Surah Ad-Dhuha, and Surah Al-Bayyinah. For each surah, along with memorization, students will learn the background and meaning of the surah, InshaAllah. We will also go over some names of Allah SWT and some duas.

In class on September 13th, students learned the background of Surah Al-Qadr and learned the recitation and meanings of ayas 1-3. I have attached a copy of the Surah Al-Qadr study guide along with the answer key. Students will keep this study guide as we learn the surah and use it to study whenever the test comes. 

There is no formal homework this week, but students should practice ayas 1-3 in the study guide. They will receive a treat next class if they can recite ayas 1-3 or know the meanings of the ayas.

I am so excited to be your child's Arabic teacher for this year! By the end of this year, InshaAllah students will be able to read and write Arabic well and know foundational vocabulary words. 

In the first class, we did introductions and practiced speaking simple phrases in Arabic. Students learned how to read and say "Hello," "What is your name," and "My name is ______" in Arabic. Since it was the first class, there is no formal homework for this week.

Next class, we will focus more on reading from the Quran so I can see what topics students struggle with that we can review. I also noticed that some students may know how to read but have trouble combining letters to make words due to the different forms of each Arabic letter, so we will practice this skill too.

We started with Surah AlFatiha say neyyah in your heart 

We refreshed the students mind by review the Arabic Alphabet the Harakat Fatah Dummah Kassrah Sukoon, Shaddah Tanween... and the Shape of the Arabic letter in the words beginning, middle and end of the words  (أول  وسط آخر الكلمة ) we practice them on the board asking each student to read and recognize the letters with haraha and place in the words 

It's a verbal refresh and review but I addeda little writing one

My name is BAN, and I am going to be the Quran teacher for your kids this year. My way in teaching is to understand every kid and give each one the necessary support in class. I usually work with the parents as a team to help the students understand and memorize the short Surahs and Allah names assigned to grade KG, given that the kids are attending school one day in the week and memorization needs continuation through out the week. We will use I Love Islam as our basic curriculum throughout the year.

Learning Salah:
We will learn how to perform Salah, its importance, guidelines, and the different duas recited during Salah.

We will learn and practice multiple everyday duas that students can use in their daily lives.

In class on May 10th, students finished learning Surah Al-Bayyinah in the study guide. They also reviewed the two names of Allah SWT for this unit and the three duas. 

Those who have not completed the Surah Al-Bayyinah homework worksheet should turn it in this Sunday to receive credit. 

The test for Surah Al-Bayyinah will be this Sunday, on May 17th, InshaAllah. It will cover everything in the Surah Al-Bayyinah study guide, names of Allah for Surah Al-Bayyinah, the duas and their meanings, madd laazim, and some of Surah Al-Bayyinah vocabulary. Since this is the last class before graduation, if you know your child cannot make it for the test, you can arrange with me to take the test at home and send me a copy of their answers so they can still get a grade. 

After the test, I will assess the kids on all of the surahs they need to know from KG to Level 4. This will not be for a grade; it is just so their teacher next year can have an idea of where they are with memorization.

I will also bring some snacks for the kids during the test to have some fun for the last class.

Today I assessed the students on salah training requirements for this year. The students have learned a lot this year and hopefully they can retain this information this summer. We also reviewed some salah positions, what they are called and what we say while we do them.

I will miss the next class as I will be out of town but will be here for graduation inshAllah

I'm planning on arranging a substitute to do crafts and games for the last class as well as some more review.

It has been a pleasure teaching these students for the past year and I have been learning along as well. May Allah continue to fill their hearts with excitement in growing their knowledge about Islam, Ameen!

Kindly find attached the study guide for the exam this Sunday. Each student will be asked to recite one of the Surahs, then to tell me its general meaning. Then I’ll ask the student to tell me the meaning of two of Allah names in their curriculum, answering why we should thank Allah daily and be good to our parents. I’ll show them Arabic letters and they have to verbally tell me the name.
Then they do the written part of the test. If they practice the study guide, they should be fine.

As we are reaching the end of the semester, students were evaluated this week on their Islamic duas. In the coming weeks, we will review and touch base on salah and adaan, reinforcing their understanding and practice.

 We have only two weeks left for this schools year. 
Instead of speeding on Surah Al Balad I am going to give a Summer Home Work. Will follow up on it later. 

For next week each student in require to complete a project on Camel. It could be a digital presentation/ Essay/ Report/ Fun Facts about Camel or Allah's Camel in the story of Thamud( Surah Ashamas) THIS IS A GRADED PROJECT DUE NEXT SUNDAY. 

Also I will be doing end of year evaluation on previous surahs so make sure all kids are well revised.

The rest of the students took the exam today. I will have them graded by next week. This week we started final assessment for everyday duas and salah that are required for the 2nd grade curriculum.

Since everyone is on a different level on what they know already, l have assigned each one of the students a different homework for this week related to Salah. We have two more classes left before graduation so it's important all the students do their best to catch up and learn the required duas before the end of the school year.
