I just bought a publishing Key. What do I do?

First, find your Publishing Key. You may have received it from your School Administrator, or in an email from ThinkWave after you purchased "Publishing to Grades Online". Your Publishing Key has a 4 - 4 - 4 - 3 format.* Enable publishing privileges * Login with your ThinkWave ID. * Click the Publishing link on the left side of your Homepage * Under "Enter new publishing key," type in your publishing key and click Enter. You only need to enter this key once.* Note that this is different from the ThinkWave Educator and Administrator Activation Keys, which have a 5-5-5 format

How can I recover my datafile?

Start Educator. In the 'Open a Gradebook' screen (either the first screen that appears on startup, or you can get to the screen via File | Open) - click on the Search button. Go through the screens of the wizard to select where to search for your datafile (local hard drive or Network), and which file-types to look for. Standard types are '.TWE' and '.BAK' files. If you have published to Grades Online, then also include ".SNP" files. Look through the list of resulting files, and determine which is correct (based on size, date, etc). Select that file and open it. If this is not the correct file, then repeat the procedure until you have found the correct datafile. If you have published to Grades Online, ThinkWave can recover your data from the server. Please send an email to support@thinkwave.com.

Publishing Error – “Cannot copy… Source and destination are the same”

The reason for this problem is that you are working with a gradebook file that ends with the extension ".snp". You must rename the extension of the file that you are opening from .SNP to .TWE. To do this, you should first:
1. In Windows Explorer, click on View|Folder Options (View tab).
2. Un-check "hide file extensions for known file types"
3. Find the file that you are opening in Educator.
4. Rename the extension of the file from .SNP to .TWE
