ThinkWave 3.0 collects grades and comments from multiple teachers and automatically prints them onto a consolidated student report card. Report cards can be customized with a school logo, address and custom text. As well, the report card can print custom fields such as Citizenship or any other custom field. Subjects can also have multiple grades. For example, an elementary Math class can have an overall grade, as well as additional grades for skills such as "Spatial Thinking" and "Problem Solving". Transcripts print automatically and contain result from all the terms a students has been enrolled. GPAs are automatically calculated, both for individual terms and for all terms overall. Graduates' transcripts are also kept in ThinkWave 3.0.
Grades and attendance are immediately available to administrators as soon as they are entered by teachers. There is no need to wait until the end of a semester. Attendance can be taken once a day or period-by-period. ThinkWave 3.0 automatically calculates Average Daily Attendance (ADA) and Average Daily Membership (ADM). ADA can be calculated by either the number of periods, percent of periods, or number of minutes a student is present in the day. Attendance and attendance comments are collected from teachers and presented to administrators. Administrator can then verify attendance and change attendance marks if necessary.
ThinkWave 3.0 includes a web-based gradebook for teachers. Teachers can use the gradebook from home or school without installing software. Student names are automatically pre-populated for teachers. Teachers can use an all-points grading system or a flexible grading system that can include points, letter grades, check, check plus, and any other custom grading scheme. Teachers can use assignment type weighting, for example making Tests 30%, Homework 40%, Projects 15% and Participation 15%. Teachers can also create their own assignment types.
ThinkWave 3.0 improves communication with students and families. Individual password-protected accounts let students and parents view classroom information. The detailed day-to-day summary of student progress includes overall results, graded assignments and upcoming assignments. Usage of Grades Online correlates with improved student achievement by improving organization and allowing for early intervention. ThinkWave 3.0 displays information automatically, without any additional action by teachers or administrators.
ThinkWave 3.0 is completely web based. This means there is no software to install and no servers to purchase and maintain, thereby saving on IT costs. Administrators and teachers can access data from school or home. Deployment is done by handing out access codes to teachers, students and parents and directing them to log in with a web browser. ThinkWave 3.0 can be used with any modern web browser including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. It can be used on PC, MAC and Linux.
Pricing is based on the number of students in a school and charged by monthly or yearly subscription. ThinkWave 3.0 is priced with a low monthly minimum that is accessible to the smallest of schools. The return on investment from ThinkWave 3.0 appears quickly in saved hours of administrative time from compiling report cards, transcripts and attendance reports.
