Fairy Tale Ball

The Fairy Tale Ball is this Thursday, December 11th.  We have told the kids they can dress up in their favorite "fancy" clothes or as a character from a Fairy Tale.  Also, we are still in need of volunteers.  Please contact Mrs. Cook at teachers@plaidacademy.org if you are interested in helping out!

CPS TITLE 1 FREE PARENT CONFERENCE

CPS Title I Programs for Private Schools is sponsoring its 2nd Annual Parent Conference for Title I eligible students focusing on “Building a Strong Foundation”- Tools for Your Child’s Academic Success. The conference will be held at St. Bede the Venerable School located at 4440 W. 83rd St., Chicago
Saturday, November 15th from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
Parents will have the opportunity to attend workshops to help them learn effective strategies and tools that can be used at home. It will be a fun and interactive learning experience for the parents. The award-winning columnist and author Bull Garlington will be the keynote speaker. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Parents will receive giveaways at the workshops and raffles will be held throughout the day. There is limited childcare available for the students in grades K – 6.

Tell her what a new building would do for the school, new technology, better workspace enviornment, a playground!!!!  Tell her how Plaid Academy has helped your child and what makes us so special!!!

Weekly Overview for 2-10 thru 2-14

This week in IDS the students will continue working on decoding and phonics.  The focus will be on Long I.  They will also play a dice game keeping tally marks to find out how many rolls to 100.  Then we will chart our data to see if everyone had similar results.

January Book Report

The January book report for Jr. High will be on two required reading books:  Will You Sigh Here John Hancock?  and Shh!  We're Writing The Consitution both by Jean Fritz.  The students have been given a worksheet to complete for each of the books and they will be due at the end of the month.
