The creation of the gods:  Chaos, Gaia, Ouranos, Chronos, Rhea, Prometheus, Epimetheus, Aphrodite, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Pandora

Assignment:  Create a collage or illustration of the theogony of Greek gods.

 

 

Tuesday, April 3:  Pandora and the Olympians

Pandora, pithos, hope, Prometheus, Epimetheus, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Athena, Hephaestos, Aphrodite, Ares, Apollo, Artemis

Assignment:  Find a picture of a famous person (real or fictional) that embodies the characteristics for each of the 12 Olympians
Ex:  Catniss (from The Hunger Games) is like Artemis because Artemis is the goddess of the hunt.

 


Tuesday, April 17:  Zeus

Zeus Xenios, Zeus Horkios, Io, Argus, Europa

Assignment:  Study for test over the Theogony
 

 

 

Tuesday, April 24:  The Myth of the Minotaur

Test over Theogony

Minos, Pasiphae, Minotaur, Ariadne, Theseus, Daedalus

Assignment:  Make a collage of at least 6 scenes of the myth of the Minotaur

 

 

Tuesday, May 1:  Leda & the swan, The House of Atreus

Leda, Tyndareus, Helen, Clytemnestra, Tantalus, Pelops, Oenamaus, Hippodamia, Atreus, Thyestes, Pelopia, Menelaus, Agamemnon, Aegisthus, Iphigenia, Orestes

Assignment:  Complete the packet on the House of Atreus
