Hello everyone. Thank you for checking in this week. To start the school year, students are working on incoporating their Chrome Books into their daily assignments. This week, students took notes in either a Google Document or a Good Presentation (Power Point). The presentations are a little easier to sort through. Since all of our quizes and tests are open note, students will be developing their note-taking skills along with their content knowledge. This past week, students learned some of the vocabulary that is associated with history, such as primary sources, secondary sources, portraits (bios), historian, etc. Students can access their Google accounts and share their work with you simply by going to google.com and typing in their school username and password. Students will be tested on their vocabulary words this week. Before each assessment, we play a review game. Students will be playing a game called "Treasure Hunt," in which students will have to find the definition of a vocabulary word that they have. Students will work in partner groups to do this.

I do want to remind parents about our first Nevada History field trip. Students will be going to the Clark County Museum in Henderson on Wednesday, September 19. You should have received a permission slip from your child. If you didn't, please let me know.  If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to drop me an e-mail at bidellb@nhalv.org.
