Welcome New Horizons Center for Learning

Nevada Geography

TimeSept. 23, 2012

from:Bidell, Barbara

to:Nevada History

Students were able to see some of Nevada's history first hand this week when the upper school ventured to the Clark County Museum. Students visited homes, businesses, toll cabins, and even a jail that were moved from various towns throughout the state.

Students are continuing their unit on Nevada's Geography and our state's place in the world. Students are taking notes on vocabulary and will have another vocabulary quiz later this week. Also this week, students will have to complete a homework assignment. On Monday evening, students will need to write about a place they have visited in Nevada. Even if they have only ventured to the Strip, they need to write about their personal experience. We will be sharing those with the class on Tuesday. Look for that assignment in Google Drive or Google Docs. It is there that they will find the length of the assignment. Lengths and detail will vary by skill level since the assignment should only take 20 minutes.

As usual, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail at bidellb@nhalv.org.
