Hello again everyone. Thank you for checking in with the blog. This is scheduled to be a very busy week. Students will start out the week embarking on the election season at New Horizons. Students who want to run for school office will be making speeches in the auditorium Monday during second period. Even though we won't be doing work in the classroom on Monday, students will be completing an essential homework assignment; memorizing the Preamble to the Constitution. Students will be having a quiz on the subject on Tuesday. I know some students have trouble with memorization, but this is only 52 words. The quiz will be fill in the blank-some key words of the Preamble will be left out, and the students will have to fill in those key words. Hopefully, it will be easier than it sounds.
For the rest of the week, students will continue working in their groups to complete a presentation on Articles I-IV of the Constitution. Students are working together to create their own references on the portion of the Constitution that details the duties of Congress, the President, and the Judicial branch; including the Supreme Court and the lower courts. Article IV deals with the powers of the states. Students should be able to make their team presentations by Friday.
As usual, if you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line.
