Hello everyone. Well, we have wrapped up our study on Greece and have moved on to
Rome. Students learned about the legend of Romulus and Remus and are examining the Roman Republic. Students compared and contrasted the Roman Republic with our own federal republic. Next week, students will move through the timeline and the stories of the great Roman leaders. We will examine how a simply consul named Julius Caesar, evolved as part of a powerful triumvirate, and the circumstances and means that allowed Caesar to seize power as dictator.

Students have expressed interest in various projects to dive deeper into various aspects of the Roman Republic and the entire Roman Empire.  They will draw up proposals about their projects and should be completing those by the time we leave for Thanksgiving break.

There will be no homework this week since students are not in school on Monday. Please look for an e-mail next Monday detailing the homework for November 19.

As usual, if you have any questions, please feel free to contanct me at bidellb@nhalv.org.
