TimeNov. 26, 2012

from:Bidell, Barbara

to:World History/Humanities

Students will be wrapping up their projects on the Roman Empire early in the week. Students will be presenting their Power Points (Google Presentations), and their play this week. Students split into two groups to complete projects that cover the gamut of the empire from its rise and fall to the development of Christianity to the roles and rights of women in Ancient Rome. Following the projects, we will move into the decline of the empire and its splitting into the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantinium) and Western Roman Empire (Rome).  We also will go into the causes for the split.

This week, students will be starting the week by exploring the causes for the split. Students will answer the following question for homework on Monday: What were some of the circumstances that caused the Roman Empire to split in two?

At the end of the week, students should be able to name the causes and effects of the decline and split of the empire and how that split influenced history for centuries to come.

As usual, if you have any questions or concerns about the class content, please send me an e-mail at bidellb@nhalv.org.
