TimeDec. 16, 2012

from:Bidell, Barbara

to:Am. Government

This week students will be wrapping up their unit on the Executive Branch of the United States Government by going over the qualifications and the duties of the President of the United States (POTUS).  Last week, students presented projects on the President's Cabinet and the department that they head. This week, we will be conducting academic investigations into the various duties of the President and the limitations of those duties. At the end of the week, students will be assessed on their knowledge of the qualifications and responsibilities of our nation's chief executive.

For homework this week, students will be memorizing the three qualifications detailed in the Constitution; that is,

1) The President must be at least 35 years of age

2) The President must have lived in the United States for at least 14 years.

3) The President must have been born a citizen of the United States.

They will also need to memorize at the two duties assigned to the President of the United States by the Constitution.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the work for the week, please send me an e-mail at bidellb@nhalv.org.
