TimeJan. 14, 2013

from:Bidell, Barbara

to:Nevada History

This week students are completing a project associated with a Nevada pioneer who made his or her mark in the latter half of the 19th century. Students will be learning about Nevada's first territorial governor, the evolution of the geography of the state, and Nevada's significance in the Civil War and its role in bringing about the end of slavery. Students also are learning about industries such as mining and ranching in the Silver State in the second half of the 1900s.

Parents and students should have already received the rubric for this latest project on a Nevada pioneer. If you have any questions regarding that assignment or the unit, please feel free to drop me an e-mail at bidellb@nhalv.org.
