Students will be wrapping up their unit on the History of China. Students have been shooting a film that includes a series of skits showing key aspects of China's dynasties, empires, and the present communist regime. Students will finish shooting by the end of the week. Once again, students will be taking a dynasty other than the dynasties they have written about, and coming up with three key components of that dynasty, empire, or regime. Remember, each Monday that students are in school, they will have World History homework that is due the next day.
Please feel free to check out the "China Script" to see what the students have collectively created. There are scenes about Confucius and his philsophy, the Silk Road, the building and rebuilding of the Great Wall of China, the leadership of Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan and the influence of Marco Polo and other Europeans, China as an imperialist empire, the student protest led by Mao Zedong, and his ironically repressive and intolerant regime and communist legacy that forbids the same such protests. These and more are all encompassed in our script.
