The Civil War

This week, students will be working on projects that will further their understanding of various aspects of the Civil War. Students are working in heterogeneous teams on projects that will examine battles of the war, generals of the war, women in the war, inventions before and during the war that affected its outcome, and the ending of the war and Reconstruction. Together, the projects should give students a deeper insight into this most deadly of American conflicts.

Homework for this week will have students examining aspects other than their area of focus. For example, students working on inventions should consider looking up information on women or generals of the Civil War.  They will then write a short paragaph (five sentences) about what they learned about that aspect of the war.  Those paragraphs are due on Tuesday.

If you have any questions regarding the homework or classwork projects, please feel free to drop me an e-mail. Rubrics should be up by Monday and should be in each student's drive.
