Winding Down the 19th Century and Moving Into the 20th Century

TimeJan. 27, 2013

from:Bidell, Barbara

to:Nevada History

Students will be wrapping up their study this week of the latter half of the 19th Century and the early 20th Century. Students will be presenting their projects on Monday. For homework, students should look over the class slide presentation entitled "Nevada 1850 to 1905." We will be playing a review game Tuesday, and we will be having a unit assessment on Wednesday. The test will be open note, but it will not be easy.  Students should familiarize themselves with the material, so they can move through the test more easily on Wednesday. Let me know if you need any clarification on this. In fact, drop me an e-mail if you have any questions.

Thursday and Friday students will be embarking on a new unit on the history of Las Vegas, founded in 1905. We will be doing a class script that will help students understand the inception of the city and its early role in Nevada history. My hope is that  we can eventually perform the play for other students. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to drop me a line at bidellb@nhalv.org.
