This week, students are finishing their unit on Chinese history with a treat. World renowned artist and political activist Weiming Chen is coming in to speak to the students about growing up in China under the Chinese Communist Party. Chen talks will talk about the Tiananmen Square Massacre and other issues associated with more recent Chinese history. Chen in an artist who created a two-story statue that replicates the Statue of Democracy that was destroyed during the massacre in 1989. Chen is also the sculptor to the Dalai Lama and Sir Edmund Hillary. Recently, 

For homework this week, students will be checking out some details regarding the Nevada Legislature, which opened Monday. Students will be answering the following questions:

1) What number session is the legislative session?

2) How long is the scheduled legislative session?

3) When does the state legislature adjourn (Sine Die)?

Math homework was assigned on Monday
