The Health class is embarking on a new unit as we leave Pregnancy and Reproduction. Over the next few weeks, students will be learning about infectioius diseases. By the end of the unit, students should be able to identify some of the most common infectious diseases, the causes of those diseases, and understand how to prevent and treat those diseases. Students should also know the difference between bacterial infections and viral infections.
Students will start out writing and reviewing some key vocabulary. Students will then embark on a project in which they will create a project detailing a specific infectious disease. Students will not be choosing their subject this time; they will be picking the subject randomly out of a hat. Projects will be due Thursday of next week, (February 21).
This coming Friday, students will be gone for most of the class. Students will be heading to CSN's Cheyenne Campus in North Las Vegas to attend a performance of Romeo and Juliet. We are still looking for chaperones. If you would like to help out, please feel free to drop me (email@example.com) or Mrs. McCluney (firstname.lastname@example.org) a line.
