Students will continue with their unit on African history. Students will be embarking on a project in which they will be creating African masks and writing about the history behind the mask. Your child should have a rubric on the project in his or her drive this week. Students will do research, create the mask, and the put together a written report or presentation on the mask. Students will deliver those presentations. Subsequently, students will be learning about various cultures in African history.
In celebration of Black History month, students will be headed to the website of the U.S. Senate (www.senate.gov). They will be taking one person or landmark legislation and how that person or event influenced history.
