This week, students are continuing with their unit they started at the end of last week. It entitled "Lifetime Fitness." We are exploring means of staying healthy throughout life. One aspect of that is participating in individual and team sports. Students will be playing basketball, soccer, kickball, and will be doing some individual aerobic and anaerobic exercises. We will be talking about nutrition and how different foods affect the body. Next week we will be watching an edited version of Supersize Me, a documentary about the effects of fast food on the body. This unit's assessment will consist of a vocabulary quiz and some journal writing reflecting on student's personal observation of their diet and exercise practices. The unit should continue by the second week in May.
