Students will be embarking on another play. This one involves circumstances surrounding the Korean Conflict. Students will be learning about roles played by Kim Il Sung, Dr. Syngman Rhee, Paik Sun Yup, Mao Zedong, Joseph (Josef) Stalin, Harry Truman, and Douglas MacArthur.  Last week students learned about how divisions between the East and the West started even prior to the end of World War II.  This week, students will learne about the Warsaw Pact and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and the evolution of the United States' Government fight against communisum on a global scale. They will learn the specific causes of the Korea War, issues that evolved during the war, strategies of the war, and the result of the conflict.

For homework this week, students will be answering the following questions:

1) What was the North Atlantic Treaty Organization? Which countries were part of NATO?  What was the organization's mission?

2) What was the Warsaw Pact? Which countries were part of the WP? What was the organization's mission?

The play was written and will be directed by NHCL senior Austin Roberts. We welcome parents to the performance of the play on Tuesday, May 28 at 8:15. It will be part of a larger performance entitled "A Memorial Day Tribute."  I anticipate the entire program will last about 45 minutes.
