TimeMay 04, 2013

from:Bidell, Barbara

to:Am. Government

This week, students will continue their study of the Judicial branch of the United States government. Students will be watching videos about the history of the court, landmark cases, and justices that have impacted the court. Last week, students learned about Justice John Marshall and the evolution of judicial review. This week, we will be talking about landmark cases such as Brown v. Board of Education and Roe v. Wade. Students also will be evaluating the opinions of the court and how their own personal opinions compare with SCOTUS.

For homework this week, students will be answering the following questions:

1) What was Roe v. Wade?

2) Do you agree with the court's ruling in the case. Why or why not?

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this week's work, please feel free to send me an e-mail at bidellb@nhalv.org.
