Last week, students wrote a create screenplay showing their content knowledge of the Olmec, the Aztec, the Maya, and the Inca. Students have been focusing in on the brutality of the Spanish conquests of the natives of Central and South America. For their assessment, students have created an alternate universe; (What if Monteczuma hid his gold from Cortes? What if Atahualpa never met with Pizarro?) Students will be filming this week, editing the following week, and hopefully showing their film at the end of the school year.
For homework this week, students will be answering the following questions:
1) Who was Amerigo Vespucci? 2) Why is his name significant?
