The Significance of World History

Well, we have made it through our World History curriculum. Monday, students will be reflecting on the significance of studying world history. Although we had a similar discussion at the beginning of the school year, students should be able to discuss the subject with more insight.

Spanish philosopher and Harvard professor Jorge (George) Santayana said, "Those who cannot remember history are condemned to repeat it." History continues to repeat itself because people do not remember the lessons history has taught us. I have great hope that this upcoming generation will lead us into an age of peace and prosperity. If this group of students is any reflection of the world to come, I am extremely optimistic about the future.
