I know that it is early in the year, but I just wanted to let you know that you are doing a wonderful job of reading, both in terms of actually doing your reading and in terms of stretching yourselves and trying to find books from which you will gain both enjoyment and learning opportunities.
I also know that many of you are, in some ways, social readers and would like to be able to share your reflections on your books and recommendations with other members of the class. I want to help facilitate that sharing. So far, I have come up with a couple ways of doing that. I would like your opinions. 1) Web sites like Shelfari allow you to keep track of what you have read and share it with other readers of your choosing. Last year we kept a group Shelfari account, but I am thinking that if we did this, you might prefer to have your own accounts. 2) We can set aside 5-10 minutes each week to do this orally when we're all together. 3) We can have a poster or some bulletin board space in the room where we can post recommendations.
We'll discuss on Monday.
P.S. Yes, this is also a check to see how many of you are using Thinkwave.
