Today we learned about safety in the lab where the students took a quiz. We also reviewed some on the scientific method as well as discussed what is to be expected in the lab. Tonight the students need to complete the handout given to them.

Day 1 Review and Homework

to:Real Life Applications

Today we discussed how we earn money, why it's important, and established the differences between using debit/credit on our bank cards. We also learned about good/bad debt and credit.

HW: Tonight the students will be writing a story about a character starting out in the financial world. They need to take this character down a good and bad path. They need to explain each detail and how they do things going down the good (get a degree, establish a bank account, build credit..etc) path and the bad (fall behind on bills, get in debt, low credit, how will they take care of it?) path.

This will be a 10 point PARTICIPATION grade. However accuracy is important.

Writing Day 1


Good morning all! Today we learned what an argumentative essay is and discussed how to properly write an argumentative claim. Tonight, the students need to rewrite their daily spark assignment to obide by the "introduction" guidelines on the Argumentative Format Paper handout. We will continue our discussion on Argumentative Essays tomorrow.

This will be graded as a homework assignment worth 10 pts. This assignment is graded on PARTICIPATION only, however accuracy is important.

Day 1: Prehistory

to:World History

Today we began Unit 1:Chapter 1: Big Geography and the Peopling of the Earth.

We discussed the terms homids, homo sapiens, homo sapien sapiens, paleontologists, paleoclimatologists,anthropologists, and archaeologists, as well as the abreviations B.C.E (Before Common Era) and C.E. (Common Era).

We also discussed the three different periods of the Stone Age. The Paleolithic (Early Age), The Mesolithic (Middle Time or Transition Age), and the Neolithic (New Age).

Tonight the students need to define ALL bold words in chapter 1 and review today's lesson. *hint hint wink wink*

The homework will be graded as homework/participation worth 10 pts.

Students also need to answer the questions sent via e-mail (school e-mail) to the CNN Student News.

Day 1: The Scientific Method

to:Physical Science

Today, students learned about the scientific method (what is it used for? how do I use it?). The students have 2 worksheets that need to be completed as homework (the scientific method comprehension and the scientific method homework sheet). 

The Scientific Method Comprehension w.s. will be graded as homework/participation = 10pts.

The Scientific Method Homework Sheet will be graded FOR CORRECTNESS and will be worth 17 total points.
