This week primary, elementary, and middle literature groups are preparing for our second presentation this year and I can't wait for next Tuesday!

Section 5 is your opportunity think of a creative idea and spend an entire week bringing shape to that idea.  Please remember that all presentations need to be accompanied by a paragraph description that is typed.

And the countdown begins...

The day is nearing...

This week, Wednesday, October, 26th is...

Person I Admire

Come dressed as the person you admire ready to share with the group amazing and inspiring details of your life... yes, "your" life. You should be prepared (as always) to share the details of the person you admire from the "I" or "first person" perspective.

Be sure to bring a copy of the book you read last summer to share with the group plus a copy of the final draft of your research paper.

Parents, you are welcome to join this festive fall tradition which will take place from about 9:30 to noon.

Wednesday, October 26th is Person I Admire Day!

During the month of August, our students chose a "person to admire" and read a book about that person. During the month of September, our upper elementary and middle school students did additional research on that person to gather embellishing details for their written reports. This coming week, during we will be reviewing specific final project and presentation requirements for each grade level.

I can't wait to read the papers! But, as always, I am more excited for these "famous men and women" to step into our Great Room to mentor us for two fabulous hours!

Parents, please join us from 9:30 to noon for this annual event.

Past Person I Admire Mentors:

Leonardo da Vinci reminds our science students that, "All our knowledge has its origins in our perceptions."

What a distinct pleasure to begin the year with an in depth study of the Renaissance Man's contribution to the world of science! Did you know that many of the inventions that Leonardo da Vinci envisioned in the 1400s are in use today? Helicopters and parachutes and many other modern day wonders began on one or more of Leonardo's 6000 journal pages.

Leonardo believed that great ideas begin with an observation that leads to curiosity. Observational drawing is a scientific skill and a powerful tool to teach the value of concentrated patient perseverance.
