Since there is no school today, we are having our drug legalization debate on Monday.  Here is how you are going to be graded on your presentations for the debate:

Speak Loudly and Clearly (don't mumble or ramble): 2 points

Explain the production (where it comes from and how it is made) and effects (what it does to the human body SCIENTIFICALLY- meaning don't just say "it makes you feel good") of your drug- 4 points

Give three GOOD and DISTINCT reasons that your drug should be legal (including issues of drug enforcement and crimes, as discussed in the article we read Monday): 3 points

Give three GOOD and DISTINCT reasons that your drug should be illegal (including, again,  issues of drug enforcement and crimes): 3 points

You will LOSE 1 point if you are NOT READY to present on Monday or if your presentation is considered NOT APPROPRIATE (meaning, specifically, you are talking about you yourself doing drugs- act like a politician trying to get your law passed!).  You will get 1 EXTRA point if your presentation seems to go above and beyond what is expected- appropriate videos, powerpoint presentations, act out a skit, etc.

ALSO- DO NOT BRING ANYTHING TO SCHOOL!  I know this seems like a funny thing to do, but if you bring cigarettes or whatever to school, you will get suspended and it won't be that funny.
