I wish everyone the best for 2015-2016 academic year.  You may have noticed a small change in your final grade as I lowered the weighting on the final from 150 points to 100.

You were a great group of students, all very capable and I know you will succeed at overcoming whatever challenges await you.

Cheers,

Dr. Renders

to: All Students

I noticed one student writing down questions for the class as she completed her homework.

GREAT IDEA!  If you don't do a question because you don't understand it let's discuss the question next class.

Stay up to date with your homework.

to: All Students

Our final exam will be comprehensive.  To raise your grade now and prepare for your final you are encouraged to review your tests with me.  This may require you to attend a tutoring session as we often do not have time during our regular class time.

Test corrections are encouraged as follows:

Students with test grades from 70 to 79% may write out any incorrect question(s) and explain the correct answer(s) in complete sentences to raise their grade to a maximum of 79%.

Students with test grades less than 70% will be permitted to retest on the same material with an averaged final score of no more than 79%.

to: All Students

I have recorded your grade for the first two assignments and our test Ch 1-4.

to: Chemistry 8am (P)

Our schedule calls for a test on Ch 1-4 tomorrow.  Please attempt all homework questions and be prepared to ask questions on material you are unable to complete.

Hello! This is just a reminder about our first exam coming up next week! It will be the first day that our class meets this week. For some of you that is Monday, others on Tuesday...it depends on your period.

You will find the study guide for this test attached to this message. It is also in "assignments" under Exam I (click on Exam I).

Best wishes in your preparations and please email me if you have trouble or cannot access the study guide.

Sincerely,

Vanessa
