Remember, you can pick your books up this Friday between 9am and 5pm and get a head start on your reading for next module.  Instructors should have syllabi posted by Sunday night so you will be able to see what your reading assignments are for the first week.  Use the weekend to become familiar with the layout of your books and additional resources, if applicable, available to you.

Check out the syllabi for your assignments and projects and add important due dates to your calendar.  Many of you have cell phones with reminder features  - use this tool to help keep you on track for success!!!  Don't miss an important deadline and lose valuable points because of lateness.

Memo from the Executive Director

MEMORANDUM

TO:         WVJC STUDENTS

FROM:   Sharron K. Stephens
               Executive Director

DATE:    May 23, 2012

RE:         ACICS VISIT

As you are aware, the Network & Software Solutions (NSS) is a new program offering at WVJC and the Business Administration (BA) program has undergone a “total overhaul” and, as such, this program is also considered a new program offering.  When a campus offers a new program, the accrediting agency by which the school is accredited, is required to visit the campus within one year after the program is offered to ensure that the equipment that is needed to instruct the program has been purchased and the students are being instructed by qualified instructors.

The new NSS and BA programs have been in effect for approximately one year, therefore, WVJC’s accrediting agency, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) will be here on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 to review those two programs.  The team will only be on campus for one day  to check out these two new program offerings.  If you are enrolled in either of these programs, one of the team members may visit your class or ask you questions regarding the program and your educational experience.  Should you be asked a question, please answer the question honestly and address each team member with the respect and courtesy they deserve.

Should you have any questions regarding this memo, please don’t hesitate to see me.

Thank you.
