Assalamu alaykum parents,
Today’s class was very productive, this only happened because of your care and support, thank you!
We are going to have a test coming in the middle of February, so the kids need to prepare well for that!
We recited today Surah alfalaq( after reviewing Al-Ikhlas and Al-Fatiha), we learned the meaning of the Surah: I ask Allah protection from bad things in life, like DARKNESS( can not see well and do not know what to expect), and protection from MAGIC ( haram), and ENVY that someone might put on me ( envy is bad thing that Muslims should not do).
We studied 2 of Allah names:
1. Al-Kabeer: Allah is the greatest , nothing bigger than Allah, (as he created everything).
2. Al-Malik: the king of all kings. Because he owns everything and he is forever. But Allah is a king that you can always talk to, ask for help and guidance, you will always be accepted and not turned away. We talk to Allah in Salat, when we read Quran , it’s Allah speaking to us.
I encouraged them to say : لا إله إلا الله/ La ilaha illa Allah and Salla Allah Ala Muhammadصلّى الله على محمد, several times in the day in order to increase their deeds.

In Arabic: we reviewed ص ض ط ظ and learned again how to write them properly, we also learned today: ع غ ف ق and worked on all these letters in class.

During This week, they can practice writing these 8 letters from their book or print out the sheets I’ll be sending you as a pdf, these letters will be part of the test.
Continue perfecting Surah Al-Falaq daily.
Jazakum Allah khair!

Salaam parents,

I hope everyone is staying nice and warm indoors.

I am going to assign the chapter we were supposed to do today in class as homework as I don't want the students to fall behind. It is a short chapter. Please make sure this homework is done as it includes 2 assignments that will be graded and it will impact the next report card if they are zeros.

Homework: Read chapter 14: Yaqub AS and Yusuf AS on page 117 and then answer the questions on page 122. Also, I assigned the students to memorize the first half of At-Tahiyyat up until the phrase "...wa-barakatuhu". If this was not done last week, please make sure they do it this week in addition to the homework assigned from the book.

I will note down the book homework as a homework grade and At-Tahiyyat recitation will be considered a quiz grade next week.

Assalamu alaykum parents,
The kids listened in class to Surah Al-Falaq many times(probably 10-12 times ). We tried to memorize the first 3 ayah of the Surah. They need to work on that at home everyday. In 5 minutes they can hear the Surah at least 10 times everyday.

I sent homework with them, a revision of all the letters they learned so far. I need them to bring the homework with them to class. These homework sheets are graded, so be sure that your son or daughter completes them and bring them to class.
Thank you and Jazakum Allah khair.

Salaam parents,

Today we started Unit 3 with Chapter 13: Ibrahim AS and answered questions at the end of the chapter. This Unit is about stories of prophets and we will have a quiz in 2 weeks and an exam on it at the end of the unit.
It would be helpful if you review the chapter we have covered in class at home so they can keep up with all the prophets' stories. Today, ask them questions about prophet Ibrahim AS, his children, parents, what he believed in etc.

Now that we are in quarter 3, my plan is to assign homework related to salah training every week and it will be graded so please make sure students do it every week.

Homework: Memorize the first half of at-Tashahhud up until "....wa barakatahu".
I will test them on it next week inshAllah.

Assalamu alaykum parents,
I hope all is good and the kids enjoyed their winter break!

The kids did great on their test, I have FOUR students who couldn’t attend the test and I am looking forward to give them the test during our class (this Sunday). I encourage those who will take the test to study memorization of Surah Al- Fatiha and Al- Ikhlas, study the Tafseer of Surah Al- Fatiha and the meaning of Allah names Al- Rahman, Al- Raheem( as mentioned in my previous texts). Also to work on the Arabic letters ج ح خ د ذ ر ز س ش ، and work on the sentences I attached previously as they help a lot in the test.
Good luck!
