Assalamualaikum,

In class on December 3rd, the students practiced reading, memorizing, and understanding the meaning of Quran.

I gave each student a Surah Ash-Sharh Study Guide and we finished reviewing every aya in the surah and the meanings of the ayas. Next week, we will play a review game for Surah Ash-Sharh and start the next surah (Surah Ad-Duhaa), and the class after that, on December 17, will be the test for the memorization and meanings of Surah Ash-Sharh. The best way to study for this test is to study the fill-in-the-blank study guide that I gave to the students. The study guide has more information about the meanings of the ayas and background of the surah than in pages 100-101 in the "A Student's First Guide to Juz'Amma" book, so make sure to use the study guide to prepare for the test. In case anyone was absent or lost their study guide, I will link the student copy and answer key for the study guide to this message.

Next class, the student will continue reading Arabic in Lessons 4 and 5 of the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book.

There is no Surah Ash-Sharh Week 3 Worksheet, but students that have not yet completed Week 1 and Week 2 worksheets should do so as soon as possible. The day of the test is the last day that I will accept the Surah Ash-Sharh Week 1 and Week 2 worksheets. The two worksheets are linked in previous weeks' messages. Don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive full credit! If students lost their worksheets, they can just write the days of the week and get a signature for each day on a piece of notebook paper if this is easier than printing out another worksheet.

Please feel free to email me (noorb2025@gmail.com) with any questions.

Assalamualaikum,

In class on November 19th, the students completed the test for the memorization and meaning of Surah At-Teen (studied through the Surah At-Teen study guide linked in last week's message) and reading from lessons 2 and 3 in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book.

Students that have not taken the test yet will take the test next class, the class back from Thanksgiving break.

I gave each student a Surah Ash-Sharh Week 2 worksheet, which I will link to this message. When I gave the worksheet to each student in class, Saturday might have been cut out from the table on some students' worksheets. I apologize for this mistake. If this happened, please don't forget to add Saturday back to the table and have the signature for that day so the student can still recieve credit for this day!

Those that have not completed the Surah Ash-Sharh Week 1 worksheet from last week should also complete it and turn it in, which I will link to this message. Don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive credit!

So far, we have reviewed the memorization and meanings of the first 3 ayas of Surah Ash-Sharh on pages 100-101 of the "A Student's First Guide to Juz'Amma" book. We will continue with the surah next class, and I will give the students a study guide to fill out along the way (similar to Surah At-Teen study guide). I suggest practicing the memorization and meanings of the ayas in this surah starting now, so it doesn't become overwhelming to study before the test.

Please feel free to email me (noorb2025@gmail.com) with any questions.
