Homework:

Memorize Surah Al Alaq. Let them listen to their favorite Qari on YouTube to help with memorization, repitition and Tajweed.

      We have a graded test next week- students will be asked to recite Surah Al Alaq, adhering to proper Makharij we have covered so far. I will also be asking them to summarize the content of the Surah and real world applications. Please review the Surah review exercises on page 119 of Juz Amma book with them again to help them.

I will be asking the students to complete Surah presentations in the upcoming weeks- we chose the surahs together, they are expected to make a poster about the content/ main themes/ lessons contained in the Surah- to help the students understand better what they are talking about when reciting these common Surahs in their daily salah.

       Muhab- Surah Al Falaq

       Provided them with their blank poster papers today.

 

Seerah competition is 2 weeks from now, 10/27/24 in shaa Allah, you should have received details and materials already from the school. Please help your child review and hope to see my whole class at the competition!

Dear Parents,

This Sunday in the Salah portion of class, we went over the positions of Salah 

1) Takbratul Ihram(raise your hands up to the year for men and women up to the shoulders and say Allahu Akbar)

2) Qiyam ( standing position)

3) Ruku (bow down)

4) Sujud(prostrate)(forehead,nose,palms of both hands, knees and toes touching the floor)

5) Tasleemat (turn your face to right-say duaa and then repeat on the left)

In Islamic studies we have started Unit 2: Teaching of Islam and we read the chapter called We Are Muslims.

Test will be on Sunday, October 20th

The test will be on Thana and Unit 1: Chapters 1,2,3,4 and 5.

Please make sure to practice with your child the questions at the end of each chapters.

And practice Salah positions too (it's not included in the test)

Students took the Unit A test today. Graded tests will be returned next week. 

After the test, we briefly discussed the 5 pillars of Islam as that is the subject for our next Unit B. 

We also worked on a coloring page related to the 5 pillars of Islam. 

Homework: Students were asked to find the english translation of the Shahadah and write it in their notebooks. Also, know the 5 pillars of Islam.

       This Sunday we covered Unit 2, Chapter 5, Pre Islamic Arabia. We talked about what Makkah's state was before Islam. One thing we discussed was why is Makkah important to us. I always leave the class with something to remember. And I ask them to ask their parents about it or share if the parents ask you what did you learn in class today. So please ask them to help them retain. 

 Salah: Most of the students said the dua at the beginning of Salah. Some students still need to memorize it. Please help your child memorize it at home. This is the last week we are working on it. Next Sunday we are going to move onto the next lesson in Salah. 
 

Homework:

Answer questions at the end of the chapter pages 48 and 49.  
Memorize Thana (Subhana Kallahumma....). Practice Salah at home.

Assalamualaikum,

In class on October 13th, students practiced the memorization and meanings of the first 3 ayas of Surah At-Teen in the Surah At-Teen Study Guide. The blank and filled out versions of the Surah At-Teen Study Guide are linked to this message. Make sure students always bring the study guide to class since they should follow along and fill in the blanks as we learn new ayas each class. In the study guide that I passed out to the students on Sunday, I accidentally left out the transliteration of the ayas (the arabic pronounciation in english letters), so if any student needs the transliterations for extra help, the study guide copies linked to this message have this added on.

Students also reviewed fatha, doma, and kasra, and then learned Tanween. They practiced Arabic reading in lessons 5-6 in the Noorani Qa'idah Book.

The homework is to practice the memorization and meanings of the first 3 ayas of Surah At-Teen using the study guide, and practice reading from lessons 5-6. Also, make sure to study for the Seerah Competition! The Seerah Competition is on October 27th from 11 am - 1 pm at the Lakevue Athletic Club. The address is 124 Sylvan Spring Ln, Valencia, PA, 16059. I have linked the study materials to this message. Make sure students start reviewing the material this week, since I might have an in-class activity next class involving this content.

Students that have not taken the Surah Al-Qadr test due to being absent should take the test next class In Shaa Allah - Study by practicing Arabic reading from lessons 1-4 and memorizing all of the ayas of Surah Al-Qadr; they should also understand and memorize the meanings and vocabulary of the ayas, which is all in the study guide that I linked to this message.

Assalamo Alaikum,

Today in class we covered chapter 6 of our book and talked about how much Allah loves us! We looked around at all the beautiful things Allah has made for us. We also did a little craft and made paper aeroplanes! The kids enjoyed this very much. 
 

We also learned another beautiful name of Allah Al- Azeem. 
 

We went over the study guide for our first test that is scheduled for next Sunday InshaAllah. 
 

We also reviewed the steps of Wudu and names of 5 daily prayers. 
 

PLEASE NOTE:

1)our first test is going to be next Sunday 10/20 inshAllah. I have sent home a study guide with the kids today, please make sure to review it with them. 

2) open house is also next Sunday! We are looking forward to meeting with you!

3) we also have Seerah competition coming up on 10/27. It's a great opportunity for the students to learn more about our beloved Prophet Mohammad SAW!

ASA, For this week’s homework, students are tasked with writing and memorizing verses 12-14 of Surah Al-Fajr. I will be sharing the videos of the prophets Hud, Saleh, and Musa in the WhatsApp group, as there will be a simple test to check their understanding of these stories.

We also talked about how Allah has many beautiful names that tell us about His qualities. We learned one of His names Al Tawwab and its meaning.

Today, we read chapter 6: Hadith and Sunnah and answered the questions at the end of the chapter as a class. This is the final chapter for Unit A.

We also went over the dua'a for "when you fail or lose at something"-qaddarallahu wa ma sha'a fa'ala. It's not expected that they learn it after reciting it a few times so please practice with them at home so they can get it memorized. 

We have our first test on Unit A next week. It's going to be a multiple-choice test. 
I have made a study guide for the students (check their green folder) as that is easier than re-reading all the chapters again. As long as they know everything on the study guide, they'll do well on the test. 

Homework: Study the study guide provided in the green folder for the test next week.

In class on September 29th, the students practiced reading, memorizing, and understanding the meaning of Quran, and reading Arabic.

Students played a review game to practice the memorization and meanings of all ayas in Surah Al-Qadr on pages 123-125 of the "A Student's First Guide to Juz'Amma" book. The students have a Surah Al-Qadr Study Guide packet that explains the ayas, has all of the information, and is especially good to use to study for the test. I will link the student copy and filled out copy of the study guide to this message. The review game also allowed them to practice reading Arabic in Lessons 1-4 of the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book.

The test on Surah Al-Qadr and the first 4 lessons in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book will be next class, October 6th In Shaa Allah. The students should practice Arabic reading from lessons 1-4 and memorize all of the ayas of Surah Al-Qadr. The students should also understand and memorize the meanings and vocabulary of the ayas, which is all in the study guide.

we also played a TRUE/ FALSE game on general Islamic Knowledge- and will continue to use this kind of format for review of topics covered in class.

Continue to work on memorizing first 10 verses of Surah Al Alaq (play their favorite Qari on YouTube to help with repetition memorization and Tajweed)

Family project: Write/ paint AL HADI on mini canvas boards distributed in class today, Arabic name must be included. Help your kids beautify their artwork. I will text some examples pulled from Google images. They can add a small sentence at the bottom of how they think Allah guides them. Bring back to class on 10/6/24.

Who is the last prophet? Names of the mother and father of our Prophet. 
Where was the prophet born and where is the prophet's mosque (masjid al Nabwi)?
