In class on October 9th, the students practiced reading Arabic and they practiced reading, memorizing, and understanding the meaning of Quran.

We practiced Arabic reading in the first full page of Lesson 2 of the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book, and we finished ALL of Surah Al-Qadr on page 124 of the "A Student's First Guide to Juz'Amma" book.

If you do not have the two books I mentioned above, please speak to an administrator to get these books as soon as possible, since they are needed for this class.

The homework is to continue practicing reading Arabic in the first page of Lesson 2 and keep practicing and trying to memorize ALL of Surah Al-Qadr. The students must understand and practice the meanings of these ayas. The students must also complete the worksheet talked about below.

I gave each student a worksheet for Surah Al-Qadr where they should listen to a Quran reciter (can be through YouTube for example) saying Surah Al-Qadr twice a day every day this week, with a parent/guardian signature for each day to verify. If you have not practiced this with your child yet, please start as soon as possible since the point of this worksheet is to encourage students to review this surah every day.

Next class, I will start asking students to recite Surah Al-Qadr without reading. While it does not need to be perfect, I should see improvement in their memorization.
