In class on November 13th, the students practiced reading Arabic and they practiced reading, memorizing, and understanding the meaning of Quran.

We reviewed the first four ayas of Surah At-Teen, and then practiced reading, memorizing, and understanding the meaning of the fifth and sixth ayas on pages 111-112 of the "A Student's First Guide to Juz'Amma" book. The students should start becoming familiar with and memorizing this surah (a memorization and meaning test is coming in a few weeks).

We also reviewed Lesson 4 and completed Lesson 5 of Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book, where we studied harakat (fatha, doma, kasra) and tanween.

The homework is to continue practicing reading Arabic the harakat and tanween in Lesson 4 and 5, complete the worksheet talked about below, and continue memorizing and knowing the meanings of ayas 1-6 of Surah At-Teen.

I gave each student a Surah At-Teen WEEK 3 worksheet where they should listen to a Quran reciter (can be through YouTube for example) saying Surah At-Teen twice a day every day this week, with a parent/guardian signature for each day to verify. If you have not practiced this with your child yet, please start as soon as possible since the point of this worksheet is to encourage students to review this surah every day. This activity will make it much easier for the students to memorize and later recite the surah for a test since it will become more familiar.

Also if your child has not turned in the Surah At-Teen Week 2 worksheet yet, please encourage your child to do this assignment and turn it in soon.

The worksheet for Surah At-Teen Week 3 is linked to this message.

For those of you that came to Open House, thank you for coming! It was lovely seeing you all.
