Assalamalaikum,

We had an interesting class on 11/17 and we covered the chapter on sahaba Salman al-Farsi. This chapter gave us an opportunity to discuss race, concept of nations and equality of human beings in Islam.

There is no homework for this week.

Project:

Next project is due by Jan 5th and this project would be worth 40 to 50 points. All students will need to complete this project working individually. Project could be a presentation, a skit or a video.

Following are the topics for each student:

Airah - Women in Islam

Huma - Human Equality in Islam

Saad - Zakat in Islam

Taha - Material wealth in Islam

Jad - Salat in Islam

Mohamad - Knowledge in Islam

Malik - The Last Sermon (Sermon on Mount Arafat)

Rayyan - Similarities and differences between Islam and Christianity

Amr - Lessons from life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

If doing a presentation then the presentation must have at least five slides. Presentation must have an introduction and a conclusion. Content slides can have Quran verses or hadith or small stories related to your topic. I would also encourage you to have at least one slide on what you think about the topic.

Assessment would be based on the quality of content and presentation. We will discuss this in class on Sunday and I would provide more ideas for each individual topic.

Thanks,

Arshad
