Assalamualaikum,

In class on February 11th, the students took the Surah Ad-Duha test. Anyone that has not taken the test yet will take it next class. Study with the Surah Ad-Duha Study Guide (linked to this message) and Lesson 6 in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book.

Other than test makeups for those who have not yet taken the Surah Ad-Duha or Surah Ash-Sharh tests, next class will be a fun day where students will play games and eat food in class. After next class, we will start the memorization and meanings of Ayatul Kursi.

Most students have not yet completed the Surah Ad-Duha writing activity. If I don't receive a submission from a student for this assignment, I have no choice but to give them a 0 since I have nothing to grade them on. The assignment is to write down all 11 ayas of Surah Ad-Duha on a piece of paper. Students can choose to write the surah in Arabic or write it with the English pronunciation, but, either way, it should be hand-written. Students can use the Surah Ad-Duha study guide to help with this. No need to write the translations of the ayas. For example, for the first aya, students can choose to either write وَٱلضُّحَىٰ or Wad duhaa, and then continue to do the same for the rest of the ayas. They should NOT just write "by the morning brightness," since they need to write down how the aya is pronounced in the Quran for this activity. However, students that write down BOTH the ayas of the surah and the translations of the ayas can receive extra credit. Either email me the paper or give it to me in class to receive credit for this assignment.

Students that have not yet submitted the Surah Ad-Duha Week 1 and Week 2 Worksheets should do so as soon as possible. They are linked in previous messages. Don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive full credit! If the student loses the worksheet, they can still complete the assignment: they can just write their name, the name of the assignment, the days of the week, and the signatures for each day on any piece of paper and turn it in.

A few students who have been absent for many days still have not taken the Surah Ash-Sharh test yet. They will take it the next time they are in class, so don’t forget to study using the Surah Ash-Sharh study guide from previous messages!

Please feel free to email me (noorb2025@gmail.com) with any questions.

Assalamualaikum,

In class on February 4th, the students practiced reading, memorizing, and understanding the meaning of Quran.

The students practiced the pronounciation, memorization, and meanings of the last 3 ayas of Surah Ad-Duha using the Surah Ad-Duha Study Guide and then played a review game to prepare for next week's test. If anyone lost their copy or wants the answer key again, I have linked the student copy and answer key to the study guide in this message. The test for the memorization and meanings of Surah Ad-Duha will be next class, on February 11th. The study guide is the best resource to study for the Surah Ad-Duha portion of the test.

Students practiced reading from Lesson 6 of the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book. Reading from Lesson 5 and 6 will appear on the test on February 11th, so don't forget to practice!

Most students have not yet completed the Surah Ad-Duha writing activity. If I don't receive a submission from a student for this assignment, I have no choice but to give them a 0 since I have nothing to grade them on. This is a simple assignment, so it shouldn't bring anyone's grade down. The assignment is to write down all 11 ayas of Surah Ad-Duha on a piece of paper. Assalamualaikum,

In class on January 28th, the students practiced reading, memorizing, and understanding the meaning of Quran.

The students practiced the pronounciation, memorization, and meanings of the first 8 ayas of Surah Ad-Duha using the Surah Ad-Duha Study Guide. If anyone lost their copy or wants the answer key again, I have linked the student copy and answer key to the study guide in this message. Next class, we will go over the last 3 ayas of Surah Ad-Duha and then do some review. Then, the test for Surah Ad-Duha will be on February 11th. Start studying now for the memorizations and meanings using the Surah Ad-Duha study guide!

Students reviewed tanween from Lesson 5 and practiced reading from Lesson 6 of the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book. Reading from Lesson 5 and 6 will appear on the test on February 11th, so don't forget to practice!

Most students have not yet completed the Surah Ad-Duha writing activity: the assignment is to write down all 11 ayas of Surah Ad-Duha on a piece of paper.

I gave each student a Surah Ad-Duha Week 2 Worksheet. I will link it to today's message. Also, students that have not finished the Surah Ad-Duha Week 1 Worksheet should do so as soon as possible. I gave students that did not have a copy of it a copy in class today. I will link it to today's message, and don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive full credit!
