Assalamu alaikum, This Sunday we covered Unit B, Chapter 6 Sahabah. This was the last chapter on Unit B. I handed out a study guide to the students and we worked on answering all the questions in class. Students have to prepare these questions for the test we will have on Feb. 23. Homework: Students have to answer questions on page 35 from the workbook. Students must also prepare for the test from the study guide. In Salah they will be tested from Takbeer to the dua in Ruku. On Sunday 2/2 the kids took a test. Many students were absent, if you kiddo was absent please prepare them for a quick test next week. Please refer to the previous post for information about the test. 

On 2/2 we started working on a salah project. The kids will revise information about WUDU and steps of salah the next few weeks while working on this project Insha Allah. please practice with them at home as well to reinforce what we learn in class. 

We also had the muslim 360 CLASS becuase it was the first sunday of the month. This month's virtue of the month is FAIRNESS. Kids must work on activities related to fairness at home to earn prices. 

There is no HW this week in the work book. Thank  you

In the class today we covered the Chapter on Appreciating Allah's Gifts. We also discussed famous American Muslims including Faiz Shakir, who is a first generation American Muslim whose parents migrated from Pakistan. He is the campaign manager for Bernie Sanders. Students can read up about Faiz when they have time, that would be something good to read about.

Homework:

Students need to complete Exercise 1 and 2 on Page # 66 of the Worksheets book.

Dear Parents,

Today we reviewed the concept of Khushoo. Then we focused on details of the 6 essentials we need to do before salah. In particular we covered the subjects of dressing up modestly for the prayers (for boys and girls), how to determine the direction of the qibla based on location, and how to determine the time of day for each prayer. We'll continue our discussion on the last subject (time of prayers) next week.

Homework: Study the steps of praying fard, strong sunnah, and weak sunnah prayers. Homework will be given in the form of a small quiz in the class. Attached is the quiz sheet students should prepare for.

Assalamu alaikum, This Sunday we covered Unit B, Chapter 5 Muhammad (S) Becomes a Prophet. I also returned their test to them. We memorized Salah from Takbeer to Ruku. At the end of the class we had Muslim 360. And the virtue for this month is Fairness. Homework: Students have to cover pages 33 and 34 from the workbook. They also have to memorize Salah. Most kids know Surah Fateha. And know a short Surah. Please practice with them at home. We are now memorizing the dua for Ruku. Subhana Rabbi al Azeem.
