In class on April 21st, the students practiced the memorization and meanings of the first eight ayas of Surah Al-A'la. We will continue with this surah next class. 

The students also practiced reading in Lesson 12 of the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book during class. They should practice reading from lessons 9, 11, and 13 for homework.

I gave each student a Surah Al-A'la Week 1 Worksheet to complete for homework, which I linked to this message. Don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive full credit! If the student loses the worksheet, they can still complete the assignment: they can just write their name, the name of the assignment, the days of the week, and the signatures for each day on any piece of paper and turn it in. 

Students that have not yet taken the Ayatul Kursi test should take it next class In Shaa Allah.

today we went over the first 13 ayahs of Surat al buruj. We still have some kids who haven't memorized any of it and need to have that ready for next week.

we only had 30 min and could only get through very little material. Will continue with Surat al buruj next week Inshaa Allah
those insterested in qualifying for Quran competition tested today with both me and Ms May. Criteria for those who qualify is knowing the full Surah with no mistakes/ proper arabic prenounciation and beauty of recitation. We took into account other factors such such a consistent preparedness in class/ work ethic / knowing all the surahs studied this far in the year(buruj till ayah13). please understand that it is very difficult to pick and while I was hoping that they would allow me to pick 4 students I was only allowed 3. 
next week Inshaa Allah they will find out at end of class who qualified. Those who do not make it was very close and do deserve a spot. May Allah reward them for showing the enthusiasm to learn Quran always .

Inshaa Allah will have gift cards prepared for them in order to recognize their efforts.

Assalamualaikum,

In class on March 24th, the students took the Ayatul Kursi test. Students that have not yet taken the test will take it next class In Shaa Allah. Students can prepare by studying the memorization and meanings of all of Ayatul Kursi using the Ayatul Kursi study guide. I have linked the blank and filled copies of the study guide to this message for students that were absent or lost their copy. Reading from Lessons 7 and 8 in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book will also appear on the Ayatul Kursi test, so don't forget to practice!

Next class, we will begin Surah Al-A'la and continue with more lessons in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book In Shaa Allah.

Any students that have not submitted the Ayat al-Kursi Week 1 or Week 2 worksheets should do so as soon as possible. Both worksheets are linked to this message. Don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive full credit! If the student loses the worksheet, they can still complete the assignment: they can just write their name, the name of the assignment, the days of the week, and the signatures for each day on any piece of paper and turn it in. 

On April 21st, students from our class will be presenting at the assembly at the end of Sunday School. They will show everyone how to perform wudhu correctly. Next class, I will get a headcount of how many people want to participate (or you can email me letting me know that your child wants to participate), and then make a script for those that want to participate. On April 21st, I will give them the script, we will practice in class, and then they will present in the assembly later that day. 

Also, the Sunday School is having an art show! Please encourage your kids to bring in some kind of artwork on regular printer paper (8.5x11 size) about what Ramadan means to you. The art will be put up in the hallways.
