Assalamualaikum,

In class on March 3rd, we reviewed the memorization and meanings of all of Ayatul Kursi using the Ayatul Kursi study guide. I have linked the blank and filled copies of the study guide to this message for students that were absent or lost their copy. Students should practice the memorization and meanings for Ayatul Kursi. Next class will be review of Ayatul Kursi memorization and meanings, and then the class after the review will be the Ayatul Kursi test

Students practiced reading from Lessons 7 and 8 in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book. Reading from Lessons 7 and 8 will appear on the Ayatul Kursi test, so don't forget to practice!

I gave each student an Ayatul Kursi Week 1 Worksheet for homework, also linked to this message. Don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive full credit! If the student loses the worksheet, they can still complete the assignment: they can just write their name, the name of the assignment, the days of the week, and the signatures for each day on any piece of paper and turn it in.

Please feel free to email me (noorb2025@gmail.com) with any questions.

In this weeks class the students made posters about the significance of the last 2 verses of Surah Baqarah/meanings/ benefits/how these verses were revealed. Masha Allah, they did an amazing job! I took pictures to text, you can also stop by our class when you come to pick up your kids from school, they posted their work on the walls.

there was a test on reciting the last 2 verses of Surah Al Baqarah- some of the students were not prepared. They have one more chance to recite in class on 3/10 in Shaa Allah, after this I will have to enter their grades. Help your kids memorize by playing the verses on repeat in your car when travelling with them.

I also tested them on previous lessons and gave specific feedback to work on for makeup test next week.

Students should continue to revise all the materials in their green folders, which cover the following:

Ayat ul Kursi, Surah Al Alaq, Surah Al Hashr last 3 verses, Surah Al Baqarah last 2 verses, Makharij (pronounciation of Arabic letters), stopping signs in the Quran.

Assalamualaikum,

In class on February 18th, students that had not yet taken the Surah Ad-Duha test took the test. Anyone that has not taken the test yet will take it next class. Study with the Surah Ad-Duha Study Guide (linked to this message) and Lesson 6 in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book.

Other than test makeups for those who have not yet taken the Surah Ad-Duha test, we had a fun day where students played games and ate food in class. Next class, we will start the memorization and meanings of Ayatul Kursi.

Next week is the last week I will accept the Surah Ad-Duha writing activity and Surah Ad-Duha Week 1 and Week 2 worksheets from students present in class. Details of the assignments are below.

Most students have not yet completed the Surah Ad-Duha writing activity. If I don't receive a submission from a student for this assignment, I have no choice but to give them a 0 since I have nothing to grade them on. The assignment is to write down all 11 ayas of Surah Ad-Duha on a piece of paper. Students can choose to write the surah in Arabic or write it with the English pronunciation, but, either way, it should be hand-written. Students can use the Surah Ad-Duha study guide to help with this. No need to write the translations of the ayas. For example, for the first aya, students can choose to either write وَٱلضُّحَىٰ or Wad duhaa, and then continue to do the same for the rest of the ayas. They should NOT just write "by the morning brightness," since they need to write down how the aya is pronounced in the Quran for this activity. However, students that write down BOTH the ayas of the surah and the translations of the ayas can receive extra credit. Either email me the paper or give it to me in class to receive credit for this assignment.

Students that have not yet submitted the Surah Ad-Duha Week 1 and Week 2 Worksheets should do so as soon as possible. They are linked in previous messages. Don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive full credit! If the student loses the worksheet, they can still complete the assignment: they can just write their name, the name of the assignment, the days of the week, and the signatures for each day on any piece of paper and turn it in.

A few students who have been absent for many days still have not taken the Surah Ash-Sharh test yet. They will take it the next time they are in class, so don’t forget to study using the Surah Ash-Sharh study guide from previous messages!

Please feel free to email me (noorb2025@gmail.com) with any questions.
