Assalam alaikum dear parents,

Today we started Unit E in the class , we finished 2 chapters. Next week I am not going to be able to come ,sister May will take my class. Inshallah.

No Homework.

Jazakallah khair.

Azra Tabassum.

Assalamualaikum,

In class on March 17th, the students continued practicing Ayat al-Kursi. I was unfortunately unable to attend class, so the students did not take the test. The Ayat al-Kursi test will be next class, on March 24th. Students can prepare by studying the memorization and meanings of all of Ayatul Kursi using the Ayatul Kursi study guide. I have linked the blank and filled copies of the study guide to this message for students that were absent or lost their copy.

Reading from Lessons 7 and 8 in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book will also appear on the Ayatul Kursi test, so don't forget to practice!

Any students that have not submitted the Ayat al-Kursi Week 1 or Week 2 worksheets should do so as soon as possible. Both worksheets are linked to this message. Don't forget to have a signature for each day of the week that the student completes this homework, so they can receive full credit! If the student loses the worksheet, they can still complete the assignment: they can just write their name, the name of the assignment, the days of the week, and the signatures for each day on any piece of paper and turn it in.

The door decorating contest is happening now! All decorations should be primarily construction paper and only created by students and not parents/teachers. Students can draw directly on paper. I will give time after the test next class on March 24th for students to make things, but students can also start making decorations and bring them to class if they want.

For a look towards the future: after the Ayat al-Kursi test, we will begin Surah Al-A'la and continue with more lessons in the Noorani Qa'idah "Master Reading the Quran" book In Shaa Allah.

Please feel free to email me (noorb2025@gmail.com) with any questions.

Al Salamu Alaikom dear parents

Raman Mubarak to all!
May our fasts be accepted and may we all have a month full of good deeds Isa

today we had a test on Surat al Ghashiya .I had sent out an email 2 weeks ago that the test will be today  as it is the last day to enter grades for this quarter. However, many were unprepared. I will have to enter those grades however for those whose grades were less than 65% I do expect them to be ready with it memorized for next weeks class.

2. I have 6 semi finalists for Quran competition. I will choose 3 of them to go forward over Ramadan. Those who were chosen had expressed interest, attained the highest grades in class and have shown up to class consistently prepared. Those 6 finalists are: hamza, Safa, fabiha, tala, sofia, hadiza and Ayan. They have a choice of one of 3 to pick from: Surat al shams, shurat al ghashiya and Surat al buruj( which we will start next week isa)

those who have picked Surat al Ghashiya are safa, Ayan, hamza and fabiha

Surat al shams: tala

sofia , hadiza?

3. Last thing that needs to be addressed is the disrespect being shown in class from a small group of students. It is not only hard for me to teach when I am consistently trying to correct behavior but also extremely distracting to those who are trying to learn.

This has been on going for 6 months since school has started and has been observed by the substitute teachers. I have noticed consistent use of iPads and cell phones to play games during class instruction time. When given opportunity to sit down and take time to work on material that they have not learned or memorized ,many are not putting any effort and when asked to put some effort I have received rude answers in return.

Please take the time to address these issues with your child. Cell phone and iPad use will no longer be allowed! It is to stay in their backpacks.

please feel free to reach out if you have concerns!

there is no homework due for next week so they can work on their fasting and prayers. For those who did not pass Surat al Ghashiya I do expect that they have it memorized by next week inshalla( side note we have been working on since January so I have given them plenty of time)
