Assalamualaikum Dear Students, CW: Students were selected and prepared for the yearly class presentation and we did a small quiz game while teaching them more about the topic of Iman/Faith including knowledge about different angels. Students have done a great job during class presentation , despite of starting out this school year. We loved all of their presentations and also they have received encouragement prizes from me. Some students have also received prizes on best presentations. HW: There is no Home work other than finishing their chapter 1 HW which is study questions at the end of the chapter. This HW was given to them on week 1. Please buy a HW notebook and use, that way their HW can be tracked well. They also can attach their HW papers in it. If your child has not done the project of presentation as updated in previous announcements, they will lose all 10 points. Just a friendly reminder that the the Work book exercises will not be HW, those activities are to be used in the classroom downtime. JAK

Dear Parents,

Today we reviewed Surah Mulk Ayat 1-2.

Homework: Memorize Surah Mulk Ayat 3 and surahs from Nas to Masad.

As-Salaamu Alaikum,

This week the group had their Fun Day and enjoyed playing soccer golf together followed by lunch and a short halaqa.

Last week, on 9/16/18, we reviewed the first chapter of the 'Footsteps' book and had a good discussion. I attached our handout from that class.

This upcoming week, on 9/30/18, we HW will be to read Chapter 2. I have attached a handout for Chapt 2 to help guide students to some important details of the chapter as the book is at a slightly higher reading level so hope this helps.

We will also be doing a presentation at assembly on 9/30/18 so please remind students to prepare any tasks they were given in preparation.

Also please ask students to check email to make sure they are getting the group email that I am trying to use to communicate with students outside of class. If they do not recieve them, please ask them to send me a quick response at hdheen@gmail.com

Thanks!

Dear Parents,

Assalamu Alaikum: Today I listened to students recite first 5 verses of Surah Al-Alaq for HW1. Most had the verses memorized; some had only memorized 2 or 3 verses.

I also assigned HW2 which consists of first 8 ayat (see attached). Please help your children memorize the additional verses as well as practice the first 5. HW is due on coming Sunday (Sep 30).

I also reviewed the two assembly presentations that children will present as part of class and to earn points on their project 1. First presentation is scheduled for Nov 4; I will let them know the second date. Class will be divided into two groups for the two presentations (although I might have all students participate in both presentation - still deciding).

Stay tuned!

Assalamualaikum, CW: We have reviewed importance of Salah in the class and also covered half of chapter 2. Most of the students did not do their homework from chapter 1. HW will always be the study questions at the end of each chapter. There is a work book that comes and work book is to be used in class room in extra time. The exercises in the work book are not HW. Students are required to submitt their homework on time or this will affect their grades. IMPORTANT: Next week is our class presentation in assembly. Option 1: Students are required to write few lines on faith at least two and why do they think Allah (SWT) is there. They should practice reading it out. Option 2: Students who do not opt to write lines and present can bring my a poster colored presentation on Allah’s names. Draw one name of Allah and color it. Know the meaning of it. A paper is fine too if they don’t have construction paper. PLEASE NOTE: Bringing a presentation next week is very important, there is 10points for bringing it and presenting it in assembly. If some students don’t show up next week they are still required to turn this presentation in and they will not receive full points. Please encourage your children to participate, I am very sure they will enjoy this. HW: Work on the presentation.
