This week we covered Unit 5, chapter 19 Fasting During Ramadan: the month of benefits. We discussed our motivation and intention for Ramadan and fasting.

Assalamualaikum,

In class on February 9th, students practiced the memorization and meanings of ayas 6-7 in Surah Al-Bayyinah (linked to this message). The vocabulary list will be provided next class. I also gave the students a Surah Al-Bayyinah Week 1 Worksheet (linked to this message). Students can either listen to, read, or recite Surah Al-Bayyinah twice a day and get a signature for each day that they complete this to receive credit. 

Students also practiced reading and connecting Arabic letters to make words and finding syllables in Arabic words using the packet linked to this message. We completed the entire packet except the last page (titled "Write On"). Students can complete the last page of the packet for homework; I will also give them some time next class to complete it.

The homework is to practice ayas 6-7 of Surah Al-Bayyinah in the study guide and complete the Surah Al-Bayyinah Week 1 Worksheet. 

Anyone who has not taken the Surah Ash-Sharh test yet should plan to take it as soon as possible.

Some of the students did a great job reciting Surah Ash Shams (Nadia, Elhaan, Jenna, Aliza and Muhab).

Students completed their pictorial representation of the story of Prophet Saleh AS and the people of Thamud. 

Students completed an open book test on the content/ lessons learned from Surah Ash Shams.

Salaam parents,

Today we read the chapter about "Nabi Muhammad SAW", the final chapter in this unit. I handed out the study guides for this unit today. Please check your students' backpacks and help them study because we have a test on this unit NEXT SUNDAY.

If your child is going to be absent next week, they'll be given the exam when they return so please make sure they are prepared whenever they come back to class next.
