We had a test of Surah Zil Zalah and vocabulary words. We started this Surah on January 7th so kids had 33 days of practice. It should be sufficient. Dua: Rabana Atina fid duniya hasanataun.... Practice 2 times a day. Arabic: page 140,143 H.W: page 141,142 N.Q: lesson 17 line no.7,8,910 Practice three times a day. PROJECT: Choose a prophet and write 5to 10 lines about his Miracles, Achievement, Strggules. You can make a poster model or whatever you like to illustrate your work. Project is due on April 15th. *no makeup dates.

Assalamu alaikum, This Sunday we covered lesson # 17, Prophet Ibrahim (A). In Salah we practiced Salah from the beginning till Sami Allah Huliman Hamidah.... We also practiced the kids’ projects. Students will be performing it and reading their Pillars of Islam project in front of the assembly on February 18. Homework: Students have to cover the questions at the end of the lesson Prophet Ibrahim (A) on pages 91, 92. Students must also practice Salah and memorize the dua Sami Allah Huliman Hamidah. Dear Parents, Today we covered Lesson 15 (Khatijah (RA)). We also covered the subjects of physical cleanliness and purification in Islam. We talked about why physical cleanliness is important, what it means to be clean, and how to properly dress. Then we talked about three types of purification: wudu, ghusl, and tayammum and covered why and how to perform ghusl and its essentials. We’ll continue this subject in the coming weeks. Homework for Feb 11th: Read Lesson 16 and answer questions at the end of the lesson.

For salah we are still working on Thana, in our salah book it is on page 25 and also I gave the kids a handout that should be in their folders. please practice at home, I will require the kids to know this for their test on Feb 25th Insha Allah

There are some kids who did not turn in a project. Every student needs to turn in a poster project about one of the five pillars of Islam. If your kiddo has not turned in a poster project please do so by Feb 25th, This is the last day to earn credit. I will not have another project this year, this project on the five pillars will be the only poster project for my class. We did however have a couple students do their presentations and we will continue these presentations until the 25th Insha Allah

I am happy to report, we had more students bring in games! So we spent a good amount of our time, at the end of class playing games. The kids enjoyed this very much!

Assalamu alaikum, This Sunday we covered lesson # 16, Nuh (A). In Salah we revised Salah from Takbeer till Ruku. Each student has to perform Salah with actions and the Surahs and Duas in class for practice. We also revise it together many times. Some students still need practice at home and parents are requested to help them revise it at home. We have also started the next step in Salah that is memorizing “Sami Allahu liman Hamidah”. Dear Parents,

Today we covered lesson 15 (Isa (A) and Maryam (RA)). We started with a review of the history of Ibrahimic Religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), the story of Banu Israil, and conditions of the society when Isa (A) was born. Then we covered story of Maryam (RA). We then talked about how Islam's view of Isa (A) is different than that of Christians.

AA, Today we covered the lesson on Yaqub (A) and Yusuf (A). The homework pages are 82, 83

We also watched a youtube video on how to pray 2 rakat salah. Some kids still need a lot of help with steps of salah and some kids are far advanced. I would like for kids to practice this, "Subhana Kalla Humma Wa Bee Hamdika Wata Baara Kasmooka Wa Ta'ala Jaddoo Ka Wa La ilaha Ghairuka" at home. We will also recite this in class as a group. 

I asked kids to bring a game and mentioned this in the last weekly update but unfortunately only one student out of 12 kids had brought a game from home. Instead of that, we played hot potatoe. I did tell the kids to bring a game for next sunday but Im doubtful after the first attempt was not successful. Nevertheless we will make time to do something fun at the end of class. 

One student gave his presenationg this week, Insha Allah we wil continue with 2 more presentations next week.

Almost all of the children who missed taking Test 2 from last week were missing from the class this week as well. Next Sunday is the last class period to take Test 2; please make sure you children are prepared (if your child needs to take the test).

I introduced the next set of verses today in class - Verses 284-286 of Surah Al-Baqarah. Next HW assignment is attached in case your child missed the class. It is due next week (Feb 4).
