Alsalam Alaykum,

We’ve started Surah Al-Ghashiyah! For homework, students are required to memorize and write the first four verses with tashkeel, and learn the new vocabulary.

Project 3 is one the students will really enjoy! Each student has been given a blank book and will be creating their own Islamic story. Here are the project topics for each student:

Tala: Dua’s

Nermin: The Five Pillars of Islam

Faiz: Stories from the Quran

Sarina: Arabic Alphabet

Minsa and Ayra: Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Emaan, Daiyaan, and Azlan: Stories of the Prophets

Zayna: The Four Caliphs of Islam

*** Due March 2nd ***

Starting next week, we’re launching a fun food adventure in class! Each week a student will have the chance to make and share their favorite traditional dish from their home country. Yes, boys included! It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase your cooking skills and share a piece of your culture. Just a quick reminder: please make sure the dish does not contain nuts due to nut allergies in the class. I’ll be going first with a Syrian dish.

The students are thrilled about these hands-on experiences, and I can’t wait to see their creativity shine and enjoy the wonderful dishes they’ll bring! -Jumana

Assalamualaikum,

In class on January 19th, students had a party with food and a movie! We did not go over any new content. Next week, we will start Surah Al-Bayyinah and keep practicing words from the Noorani Qa'idah book. Students that were absent last week took the Surah Ash-Sharh test. Anyone who has not taken the Surah Ash-Sharh test yet should prepare to take it next week Inshallah. The test was on the background, memorization, meanings of ayas, and vocabulary of Surah Ash-Sharh (everything in the study guide), and lessons 9 and 10 (and extra credit from lesson 11) in the Noorani Qa’idah book.

Students that have not yet turned in Surah Ash-Sharh Week 1 or Week 2 homeworks (linked to previous messages) should do so as soon as possible. For these assignments, students should either listen to or say the surah twice a day every day this week, and a parent/guardian signature is needed for each day that they do this so they can receive credit.

Please feel free to email me (noorb2025@gmail.com) if you have trouble accessing any of the documents linked to my messages or if you have any questions!

We enjoyed seeing the creativity and learning the meanings of different names of Allah with the presentations. The kids did amazing and I want to thank the parents for helping your children with the project.
We continued on with the Unit about prophets with a chapter about "Yaqub and Yusuf". We also worked on the questions at the end of the chapter together.

some students asked to have a quiz/test next week (unbelievable right?)...so I'm going to follow through with the request and give them a pop quiz next week on the 3 prophets we have covered in class so far.
They will have to go back and reread the 2 chapters and look through the questions at the end of the 2 chapters. So the quiz will cover prophet Ibrahim AS, Yaqub AS and Yusuf AS.
