Assalamualaikum, CW: We finished the chapter 11, and completed exercise 11. We went over what to recite in the part of Salat after ruku. HW: Students are expected to know that after the winter break. Also work on the project is due now on on January 21st. Important Announcement: I will not be in the class on January 7th and 14th, due to some very important and personal reasons. I will unfortunately have to miss taking the class. Sunday school administration was informed in September. May Allah swt have mercy on you all. If a sub comes she will do ch 12 and 13 and also steps of Sajadah performed in Salat. You can work on these with your children if you like to. Knowing whole Salat by the end of the year is mandatory part of this class. Keep working on that, children must learn to do 2rakah Salat independently Jazakallah Kher. Have a blessed and enjoyable winter break, best wishes for the wonderful families spending time together.

AA,

Sister Farah Ammad was the substitute teacher today. She did lesson on WUDU and also revised how to pray a 2 Rakat salah

She passed out the study guide for the test on January 7th 2018 Insha Allah

The test will include lessons #8 through #13..Essentially the test is on lessons on Pillars of Islam. Please let me know if you did not recieve a study guide and I can email you a copy. Also if you have any questions please let me know.

Homework : Study for the test. Their winter project is also due on the 7th.

Hope the kids have a relaxed and wonderful winter break Insha Allah

Assalamu Alaikum:

Today I listened to children recite verses 21 through 23 of Surah Al-Hashr for HW #7. Most did better than last week (masha' Allah) although some slipped backwards (perhaps due to Jeopardy or other reasons). They can still earn credit for today's HW assignment when they memorize verses 21-24 next week for HW #8 (attached). Please encourage them and help them. Also make sure to sign their HW sheets so they can earn the extra credit.

Ther is no school for next two weeks due to Winter Break. When children return to school on Jan 7, we will only have two class periods left in Fall Semester. Thus, Test 2 will be conducted on Jan 7 and Jan 14. Students have the option to take the test on either Sunday. Test 2 will consist of reciting verse 21-24 of Surah Al-Hashr from memory.

There is also an "Art Project" related to Surah Al-Hashr and it is due on Jan 21. I have attached all the details; please review and let me know of any questions.

Laslty, please listen to your children recite Surah Al-Alaq at least once a week so they don't forget.

Best Regards,

Ishfaq Ahmad

Today we learned a new letter (The Dhaal) and practiced tracing it in our books as well as saying it out loud. The students also took turns writing the letter on the whiteboard. We then played a matching game as a class. They enjoyed this a lot! I gave everyone a small gift for paying attention.

Homework: Practice writing the letter “Dhaal” and to read over Surah Kawthar at least once so they have an idea when we practice it in class on the 17th.

Thanks

AA Parents

Today we had a few activities involving Hajj. We did the lesson on Hajj last week and I wanted to use today to practice more about the new information we had just done last week.

We also played a fun game to study for our test on 01/07/18. The test will be on the 5 pillars of Islam. Next week they will get a study guide and have a substitue teacher who will Insha allah go through the questions with the kids in class.

Next week they will do the lesson on Wudu and finish up any lessons on Salah. I plan to use next week's class as a day to catch up on Salah lesson which would go hand in hand with the Wudu lesson we have in our islamic studies book.

No homework since today was a review day and many kids were at MCCGP

Assalamu Alaikum:

Today I listened to children recite verse 21 & 22 of Surah Al-Hashr for HW #6; most of them needed some help in reciting the verses and many had not memorized it at all. They can still earn credit for today's HW assignment when they memorize verses 21-23 next week for HW #7 (see attached). Please encourage them and help them. Also make sure to sign their HW sheets so they can earn the extra credit.

We also played the "Salat Game" to repeat the duas we say during the prayers. Many needed help with this as well. This is something we expect children to know by heart by this age. Please work with your children to make sure they have memorized the duas.

Feel free to contact me if there are any questions.
